Giro d’Italia 2026 in Veliko Tarnovo

Veliko Tarnovo will join Giro d’Italia 2026 with an exciting city program that turns the city into a stage for sport, music, children’s activities, and public celebration. On May 8, residents and visitors will be able to watch Stage 1 (Nessebar – Burgas) on a giant screen at the Asenevtsi Monument, where a prize party will also take place.
On May 9, the program becomes even richer: there will be a Junior Band parade along Nezavisimost Street, a parade of Veliko Tarnovo folklore ensembles, live screening of Stage 2 (Burgas – Veliko Tarnovo) on a big screen, a cycling trainer challenge and prize party, and the children’s cycling competition “Tsarevets Children’s Cycling Tour (Giro di Tsarevets)”. After the children’s awards ceremony, participants can join a cycling ride along the final sections of the stage with TarnovoRuns, and the evening will end with a concert by Torino & Pashata at the Asenevtsi Monument.
On May 10, the program continues with a road and mountain bike race for the Kereka Cup 2026 in the village of Kereka, open to both adults and children. On the same day, Veliko Tarnovo will also host a live screening of Stage 3 (Plovdiv – Sofia) on a giant screen, accompanied by another prize party.
