Giro d’Italia 2026 in Sofia

Sofia will be the grand final highlight of Giro d’Italia 2026 in Bulgaria and will welcome the race with an extensive city program dedicated to cycling, urban culture, and the European spirit. The events begin on April 25 with “Giro Vazrazhdane” in Vazrazhdane Park, continue on April 26 with the citywide cycling parade Sofia Cycles from Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. to South Park, and from April 28 to May 5 the city will host murals on concrete walls along Samokovsko Shose. Between April 30 and May 14, visitors will also be able to enjoy the photo exhibition “Cycling in Sofia” in the garden in front of Kino Kabana.
On May 2, a children’s Giro cycling event in Sofia will take place in front of the Earth and Man National Museum, while from May 5 to July 5, 2026, the National Gallery – Kvadrat 500 will host the exhibition “GIRO D’ITALIA. A Brief History of Italy on Two Wheels”, presenting the cultural and sporting legacy of the legendary race.
The main Sofia celebration will take place from May 8 to May 10 at Alexander Nevsky Square, where Sofia Giro Park will serve as the final zone with a giant live screen, children’s activities, and free evening concerts. On May 8, the program features the children’s show Margaritka, a performance by the Alma Rhythmic majorettes, a concert by Robi, and a DJ set. On May 9, Europe Day, Sofia will host the “Pink Ride” with embassies and diplomats, a children’s cycling rally, and a concert by No More, Many More. On May 10, the day of the final stage, the program includes another children’s show, majorettes, Sofia Rides Giro – a mass cycling parade along Tsarigradsko Shose, and a closing concert by Cool Den.
