Bansko Day – 113th Anniversary of the Liberation of Bansko from Ottoman Rule
October 1 - October 5
On October 5, 2025, the town of Bansko will celebrate 113 years since its liberation from Ottoman rule with a week-long series of cultural and festive events.
Under the theme “Along the Cobbled Streets of Time”, the celebrations will take place from September 29 to October 5, featuring:

Photo exhibitions from the archives of the Bansko Museum Complex

Children’s performances and a national chess tournament “Asenevtsi”

Blessing ceremonies, film screenings, and interactive history lessons

Sports games for children, literary exhibitions, and art showcases

Open museum days and children’s film panoramas

A ceremonial liturgy and wreath-laying ceremonies honoring Bansko’s heroes

The grand finale – concert-spectacle “…And for Freedom” by Ensemble Pirin with special guests Men’s Folklore Group “Banski Starchéta.”
The festivities unite tradition, memory, and community pride, honoring Bansko’s cultural and historical heritage.
