Chestnut Festival 2025

On October 12, 2025, the 12th edition of the Chestnut Festival will take place in the village of Kolarovo, Municipality of Petrich, on the square in front of the “Yane Sandanski” Community Center.
The festival offers a rich program that combines nature, traditions, crafts, and culinary delights made from chestnuts. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Belasitsa Nature Park, taste delicious specialties prepared by the local hosts of Podgorie, and join in traditional folk dances.
Amateur folklore groups from the villages of the Municipality of Petrich will perform colorful traditional programs.
The Chestnut Festival is organized by the Directorate of Belasitsa Nature Park under the Executive Forest Agency, with the financial support of the Southwestern State Enterprise and the Municipality of Petrich, in partnership with the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation and the Pirin Tourism Forum, with the assistance of the Historical Museum of Petrich and the active participation of local mayors, community center secretaries, and residents of Belasitsa Nature Park.
