Balkanhalbinsel. Das Landesgebiet liegt zwischen 44\u00b013\u2019 und 41\u00b014\u2019 n\u00f6rdlicher Breite sowie 22\u00b022\u2019 und 28\u00b037\u2019 \u00f6stlicher L\u00e4nge. Bulgarien ist ein europ\u00e4ischer-, ein Balkan-, ein Donauanrainer- und ein Schwarzmeeranrainerstaat. Bedingt durch seine geografische Lage liegt das Land am Kreuzweg zwischen Europa, Asien und Afrika.<\/p><p>Bulgarien ist n\u00e4her am \u00c4quator gelegen als am Pol. Das Land liegt im S\u00fcden der gem\u00e4\u00dfigten Klimazone mit subtropischem Einfluss. Die Lage im \u00dcbergangsbereich zwischen zwei Klimazonen wirkt sich auf das Klima, den Boden, die Flora und die Fauna aus, die durch eine gro\u00dfe Vielfalt gekennzeichnet sind. Aus astronomischer Sicht bedingt die geografische Lage einen relativ gro\u00dfen Sonneneinfallswinkel, was unser Land als sonnenreich einstruft. Bulgarien liegt in der osteurop\u00e4ischen Zeitzone, in der die Uhren gegen\u00fcber der Koordinierten Weltzeit (UTC) zwei Stunden vorgehen. Das Land unterliegt Schwarzmeer- und Mittelmeereinfluss. Im S\u00fcden des Landes ist das Klima durch Mittelmeereinfluss gepr\u00e4gt. Der Schwarzmeereinfluss ist vor allem in einer Zone von 40 km landeinw\u00e4rts klimabestimmend. Diese Einfl\u00fcsse pr\u00e4gen das typische Schwarzmeerklima sowie die vielf\u00e4ltige Flora und Fauna. Die Donau ist aufgrund ihrer Wasserressourcen und ihrer reichen Artenvielfalt von Bedeutung. Die g\u00fcnstige naturgeografische Lage Bulgariens bietet ausgezeichnete Voraussetzungen f\u00fcr die Entwicklung des Tourismus.<\/p><p>Bulgarien ist ein Verkehrsknoten und Transitland zwischen Westeuropa, dem Nahen- und dem Mittleren Osten und dem Mittelmeerraum. Das Land kreuzen zahlreiche Paneurop\u00e4ische Verkehrskorridore. Entlang dieser Verkehrsachsen verlaufen Autobahnen von West- und Mitteleuropa (\u00fcber Belgrad\u2013Sofia-Svilengrad) nach dem Nahen und Mittleren Osten (mit Ast nach Bagdad und Barsa am Persischen Golf); von der Ostsee (\u00fcber Moskau- Kiew-Bukarest-Ruse-Stara Zagora-Thessaloniki) zum \u00c4g\u00e4ischen &#8211; und zum Adriatischen Meer (Sofia-Skopje-Drac). Von verkehrstechnischer Bedeutung ist zudem die Stra\u00dfenverbindung Kyustendzha-Varna-Burgas-Tsarevo-Malko Tarnovo-Istanbul. Dar\u00fcber hinaus ist Bulgarien \u00fcber die Achsen Berlin-Prag-Budapest-Sofia-Thessaloniki und Istanbul sowie Durr\u00ebs-Tirana-Skopje-Sofia-Varna und Burgas in das transeurop\u00e4ische Verkehrsnetz eingebunden. Die durch das Land verlaufenden Hauptverkehrsverbindungen werden auf dem Schienenweg dubliert. Dar\u00fcber hinaus hat Bulgarien durch seinen Zugang zum Schwarzen Meer Anbindung zu allen Schwarzmeeranrainerstaaten, was ausgesprochen g\u00fcnstige Voraussetzungen f\u00fcr den Verkehr und G\u00fcterumschlag \u00fcber die gro\u00dfen Meerbuchten von Varna und Burgas bietet. \u00dcber die Donau hat Bulgarien Anbindung an den Rhein-Main-Donau-Kanal als auch an das westeurop\u00e4ische Wasserstra\u00dfennetz.<\/p><p>Die bulgarischen Staatsgrenzen belaufen sich auf eine Gesamtl\u00e4nge von 2.245 km, einschlie\u00dflich 1.181 km Landesgrenze, 686 km Flussgrenze und 378 km Seegrenze. Bulgarien grenzt im Norden an Rum\u00e4nien, im Osten an das Schwarze Meer, im S\u00fcden an die T\u00fcrkei und Griechenland und im Westen an Republik Nordmazedonien und Republik Serbien. Die Entfernung von Sofia nach den Hauptst\u00e4dten der benachbarten Balkanstaaten betr\u00e4gt: Skopie &#8211; 239 km, Belgrad \u2013 374 km, Bukarest \u2013 39 5km, Athen \u2013 837 km, Ankara \u2013 1.012 km.
